Hidropark
September 12, 2011
Hidropark is not the reason I went to Ukraine, but when I discovered it I spend the remaining days in Kiev photographing there.
The park is situated on an island in the middle of the Dnjeper river. It is unpopulated and not used for housing. During the Soviet times it was transformed into a summer resort for recreation and amusement for people from Kiev. It remains popular today, even though time has left its mark. To me it seemed like the Ukrainian version of Coney Island. Below a tiny selection of images.
