Florian van Roekel
September 17, 2011
I came today across Florian van Roekel‘s work about offices in the current Ahorn mag and I absolutely love it!
It reminds me a bit to Lars Tunbjork’s office series, but Van Roekel takes it even a step further by focusing almost brutally on details of office life. His images are not necessarily beautiful. He chooses strange angles, and weird framing, but that’s what I especially like about the book. It all has a lot to do with his editing, which is great. The idea to include floor plans of offices and the scribbles of employees also adds to the book. It’s a strange mix. But as whole the project makes a lot of sense. His work is to me one of the most refreshing things I have seen for a while.
Go and have a look!
