The World in London

July 26, 2012

The Photographer’s Gallery launched yesterday the exhibition The World in London.

In The World in London, 204 people from the 204 nations taking part in the Olympics 2012 are captured by 204 photographers.

There are some great portraits and the photographers commissioned include JH Engström (Georgia), Pieter Hugo (Rwanda), Tom Hunter (Iceland), Nadav Kander (Lesotho), Martin Parr (São Tomé and Príncipe), Rankin (Niger), Stephen Shore (Kazakhstan), and Alec Soth (Netherlands).

Have a look at the website on which you can also find the portrait of Amna from the United Arab Emirates, that I took last summer.

The exhibition is in Victoria Park until the 12th of August and at Park House until the 30th of August, opposite Selfridges. If you pass by you should definitely check it out.

Foto8 Summershow

June 30, 2012

Next Friday is the launch party of the Foto8 Summershow at Host Gallery in London. I am happy to be selected for the show and to exhibit an image of my new project Strawberries in Winter! So come along for a cool drink.

Elephant in Focus

March 5, 2012

From tomorrow onwards I am going to show The New Residents in the Cuming Museum. The work originates from the times when I did my masters at the LCC. It’s a group show of former students documenting the regeneration of the borough of Elephant and Castle in London.

It’s nice to get the work out of the cupboard again. And it’s also quite exciting because there will be a book. The official opening night will be on the 8th. So come and have a look if you are around!

The Opportunity Area

May 6, 2011

I am happy to be part of the show The Opportunity Area opening next Friday in the shopping centre in Elephant and Castle.

The Opportunity Area brings together works by  ten photographers, developed during a research project in 2009 in the Elephant and Castle’s area in South London. Unfolding through a close collaboration between the photographers and the residents, traders and commuters who gravitate to the site, the resulting project creates an engaging and multifaceted portrait of the changing Elephant.

The show runs from the 13th to 22nd of May.  So come along and have a look!
